initial listen...
You can hear from the start that Garcia is feeling loose and free, he provides some speedy, muted noodling while they fix a cymbal.
Problem is, the drums and piano are far too front and center in this mix. The sound of the band the first several tunes is not well-integrated (compare with the Samson later on, which feels far better; Weir's voice and Garcia's guitar fairly dominate the scene).
On Deal, Garcia really lets fly on his third run, a great rocking solo, but Keith gets louder and louder to the point where you can no longer here Garcia's notes, a real shame. (On the companion audience recording, it's easier to hear the solo, along with a sense of the excitement of it).
The highpoint of the Scarlet-Fire couplet comes in Fire around 4:50, Garcia's second solo really takes off, worth a listen. That leads to a little solo from Weir on slide (yow).....

here's a nice little find...the highlights are not in the big guns like Scarlet>Fire, but rather, in the tunes like They Love Each Other and Deal...Keith plays alot of chords, but check out his solo in TLEO...Samson is well played...
overall, very listenable, not the best show ever, but some really great moments...

worth it...but not for Keith
This show has some very nice moments and great energy, except for Keith. He at times seems like he is simply hitting the keys at one monotonous rythm...probably nodding off most of the time.
But Deal through Samson makes up for it...this is a nice quality recording as well. Too bad its chopped up, must have been a fun night. For sure worth listening to...
